Lewiston Auburn AIDS Walk - On May 2nd over fifty people participated in the walk and we raised nearly $1000 for our program. There was a front page article in the Lewiston Sun Journal and our event was covered by the Maine Video Activist Network. This was the first AIDS walk in Lewiston/Auburn in a decade and was a total success. Lewistunning Dragapalooza - On May 9th we held our first annual fundraiser drag show. We raised over $1000 and packed the house with nearly 300 in the audience. Our performers ranged from first time youth participants to seasoned new york city professionals and they brought the house down! The drag show was a collaboration between Bates College LGBT student group, Outfront, and Outright L/A. We are looking forward to next year's event. 2nd Annual Gender Bender Dance Party - On May 22nd student's from the Edward Little GSA and youth from Outright L/A hosted the 2nd annual Gender Bender Dance at the UU Church in Auburn. Over 75 youth danced the night away with their mascara mustaches and form-fitting frocks. |
